You can change results and enter most rulings either at the table or on the PC explained below). Split scores and deductions for e.g. slow play are not handled by the Scorer system. You have to perform such changes in the scoring program.

DEALS
The deal corresponding to the results is displayed with the makable tricks for your convenience. See our explanation on a separate page if the deal is not shown to the right when you mark a result.

Note that you can amend the deal if needed so that the Scorers and the hand records will reflect the reality. Click the link 'Show all deals' in the main interface to do this. The Control Software will get the amended deal(s) when you restart it.

CHANGES IN THE GRID
1. Click on the cell in the grid where you have the result that you want to change.

2. Click a line in the "tool-tip" box so...

3...it becomes marked.

4. Highlight the part(s) of the entry that you want to amend and overwrite the old entry with the new data.

5. Press the Return key or click somewhere outside the tool-tip box when finished.

6. Save your entry (after a final check that it is correct).

Change of result
Results must be entered in the form: <contract>space<declarer>space<tricks taken>space<lead>, where lead may be omitted.

Note that you do not need to worry about spacing or caps lock. The entry will be accepted so long as it is at least one space between the parameters.

Also note that you have to enter the tricks according to the total number of tricks method and that points cannot be entered in this dialog.

Entries that are not accepted as results by BSC will be considered as rulings.

RULINGS & ARBITRAL SCORES
You can enter all kinds of rulings via the change results dialog in BSC. You should check, however, that your scoring software understands your way to enter rulings before you start to use this option.

Common notations are:
Arbitral score
Not played (or "np")
Late play (or "lp")
40%-40%
40%-50%
40%-60%
50%-40%
50%-50%
50%-60%
60%-60%
A/A
A/A+
A/A-
A+/A
A-/A

But, again, you are not limited to the notations stated above. You can, for instance, test if your scoring program understands 60/60.

If the ruling is an arbitral score, e.g. 300 pts in NS's favour, then you can enter a result that gives that amount. (The points are calculated and therefore not possible to enter.)

BSC will produce the message shown below when you enter something that is not an ordinary result. That is to say, it is NOT a warning that your entry is wrong - it is to draw your attention to the fact that you should check that the scoring program understands your ruling.

NP
'NP' (for "no play") will be saved as a ruling remark.

Note that you can replace an NP entered by the players at the table with a result, or ruling in the grid or via File/Display results.

ANNUL (REMOVE) RESULT
You can annul (cancel) a result by saving a blank entry.

You can let the players re-enter a result if the anulled result belonged to a board in the current round by commanding Recover on the Scorer in question. After Recover the blanked result will come up as the next board to play (report).
